Bernita E. Klappstein, Baraboo

Bernita E. Klappstein, age 76 of Baraboo, died on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at St. Clare Hospice House. She was born Sept. 8, 1941, the daughter of Frank and Helen (Zuch) Klemm.
Bernita worked and lived in Baraboo her whole life. She enjoyed the Packers and playing bingo. She will be missed by all.
Bernita is survived by her son, Toby Klappstein; sisters, Juanita Klemm, Ramona (the late Gordon) Jesse; brother, Frank (Donna) Klemm, Jr.; as well as sister-in-law, Beth Klemm.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Everett; brothers, Clifford, Donald and Curtis Klemm; sister, Dorothy Pace; sister-in-law, Mary Klemm.
Inurnment will be held at a later date at Rock Hill Cemetery. The Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Marcella “Tootie” Ender, Baraboo

Marcella “Tootie” Ender of Baraboo passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at the age of 85. Tootie was born April 18, 1933 in Baraboo, the daughter of Edward and Evelyn Dummer. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth “Jack”, and her son, Dennis.
She is survived by her children, Cindy (Dave) Albrecht of Killeen, Texas, Kathy (Don) Gaetzke of Baraboo and Ken (Nancy) Ender of Baraboo. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Becky Ender, Missy Albrecht, Mike (Dana) Ender, Kristina (Ryan) Granger, Josh (Valyn) Albrecht; six great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
No services will be held per her wishes.

Thelma Capps, Baraboo

Thelma Capps was born Sept. 1, 1922 to Leonard and Opal Rockhill. She had 12 brothers and sisters; one of which being her twin, Velma Tobias. Thelma felt it a privilege to serve in the WAC’s during WWII. She was married to Henry Capps and they were blessed with two children, Marvin Capps and Sherry (Capps) Brinkman. Thelma enjoyed many years as a school teacher. She was treasurer of the local WCTU (Women’s Christian Temperance Union). She was an active member and did a lot with coloring contests in the schools. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Henry Capps; second husband, George Fugate; both of her children; six brothers and five sisters.

She is survived by her sister, Wanda Terry of Reedsburg; daughter-in-law, Julia Capps of Baraboo; six grandsons; 11 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends.

Thelma lived at Oak Park Place in Baraboo and considered everyone there her extended family. Thelma attended New Life Community Advent Christian Church as long as health permitted. Her never failing faith was an inspiration to all who knew her.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018 at 11 a.m. at New Life Community Advent Christian Church with Pastor Jed Crouse officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park in Monona at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Oak Park Place in Baraboo or Agrace Hospice would be appreciated. Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Erma Klotz, Baraboo

 Erma M. Klotz, age 95 of Baraboo passed away Monday, Jan. 1, 2018 at St. Clare Meadows. Erma, daughter of Christian and Anna (Baumgartner) Huber was born Sept. 24, 1922. On April 3, 1943 she was united in marriage to Allen V. Klotz; he preceded her in death on April 7, 2003. Erma worked for over 35 years for F. W. Woolworth Dime Store. In her free time she loved to sew, play cards and garden. Every spring she looked forward to watching the baby ducks that were born next to her house. Erma was a longtime member of the Baraboo Elk’s Club and Denzer United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her brother-in-law, Charlie SaLoutos; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Allen; sisters, Nora, Marie, Gertrude and Florence.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018 at Denzer United Methodist Church in Denzer with Pastor Carol Quinn officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Denzer United Methodist Cemetery. The Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Lester Beardsley, Fairfield

Lester Beardsley, age 82, of Fairfield passed away Monday, Dec. 18, 2017 at home with family by his side after a battle with kidney cancer.  A Celebration of Life service will take place at a later date. A full obituary will appear at a later date. The Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Anita Bures, Baraboo

Anita Bures passed away on Sunday, Nov. 26, 2017 at St. Clare Hospice House in Baraboo. She was born to Frances and Arden Kitchen on Sept. 7, 1934 in Madison, WI. She married Douglas Martin on Jan. 7, 1951 and her second marriage was to Louis Bures on April 24, 1987. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, brother and sister.

She is survived by her eight children, Carolyn (Eugene) Deniger, Kenneth (Denise) Martin, Barbara (Donn) Renning, Annette Johnson, Delores (Roy) Klavitter, Kathy McKelvey, Brian (Peggy) Martin and Sandra (Dave) Gianneschi. She is further survived by 21 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She lived a full life and enjoyed all her family and many friends. Christmas was always a favorite time of year for her and she enjoyed decorating and looking at all the lights and her collection of Santa Claus. Outside of Christmas, she was known for her large collection of ceramic ducks, spread throughout her house and outside. She will be missed.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, Dec. 1, 2017 at Redlin Funeral Home at 11 a.m. with Pastor Lisa Newberry officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Home Health United Hospice, Baraboo. Anita’s family would like to give a special thanks to all the Hospice nurses and caregivers for watching over her and providing to her comfort and care.

Kenneth G. Cady of Baraboo

Kenneth G. Cady, age 76 of Baraboo passed away on November 14, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was born August 22, 1941 to Kenneth and Bernice (Luke) Cady in Baraboo. He married Judith Smith on April 3, 1965 in Baraboo. He was in the United States Army from 1959 to 1962.

Survivors include his 3 children, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Cady, Michael Cady, Deborah Long; 1 brother, Rickey Cady; 2 sisters, Barbara Swalheim, Pamela (Dennis) Brenton; and 4 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by wife, Judith Cady; parents and 1 brother, Timothy Cady.

Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday , November 22, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Redlin Funeral Home with Pastor Blake Overlien officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. 

Yvonne Joy Wilson, Baraboo

Yvonne Joy Wilson passed away peacefully Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017 at St. Clare Meadows Care Center at the age of 92. Yvonne, daughter of Raymond and Lottie (Beamish) Follis was born Oct. 24, 1925 in Michigan. She was united in marriage to Clayton D. Wilson.

Survivors include her daughters, Glyndell Trumbull of Pomona, California, Collene (Gary) Ringstad of Mauston; son, James Clifton (Patricia) Woodgate; grandchildren, Kenneth (Alicia) Trumbull, Terrie (Jacob) McGlasson and step grandson, Gary Ringstad, Jr.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clayton Dale; brother, Cecil Follis and son-in-law, Bruce Trumbull.

Private cremation services will be held. Inurnment will be held at Walnut Hill Cemetery alongside her husband. The Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Gilbert R. Barton of Baraboo

Gilbert R. Barton, age 83 of Baraboo passed away November 10, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was born March 1, 1934 to Clive and Florence (Truan) Barton. He is survived by the love of his life Charlotte (Kaney) Barton of 47 years. Gilbert was in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1956 and served as a photographer. Gilbert was everyone’s favorite and you never left the house without laughing or without a big smile on your face. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and by all who knew him.

Survivors include his loving wife; daughter, Brenda Legnar; grandson, Scott Becker; granddaughter Katlyn Legnar; baby sister, Loretta McDonald; 2 stepdaughters, 1 stepson, many other step grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters, Mary Ida Barton, Grace McGinnis, Betsy Weitzel; 1 brother, Ben Barton; nieces, nephews and 1 stepdaughter.

Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Redlin Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Lopp officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. 

Lorraine F. Hellewell, Baraboo

Lorraine F. Hellewell, age 87 of Baraboo, passed peacefully into eternity on November 3, 2017 at Oak Park Place Independent Living with her two daughters by her side. Lorraine was born on October 27, 1930 in Sheridan, Wyoming to Millard and Winifred (Stevenson) Bergren.

Lorraine met and married Louis P. Hellewell in 1947. They were married for 69 years until he passed away in September 2016. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, PEO, Lion’s Ladies, Newcomer’s Club, dance club, traveling and bridge with “the girls.” She volunteered as President of the Altar Guild at Trinity Episcopal Church of Baraboo, Treasurer of the Ladies of the Church of Trinity Episcopal Church, President and Treasurer of the Ladies’ Golf at Baraboo County Club and Activities Chair @ the Baraboo Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She was also BSA Den Mother, Girl Scout Leader.

She is survived by her children, Joseph Hellewell III of Bailey, CO, Louis T. (Kathy) Hellewell of Spring, TX, Judith (Peter) McDonald of Madison, Darlene (Clark) Nielsen of Marietta, GA: Son-in-law, Tim Blum of Baraboo; stepbrother, Keath Bergren, OR; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 1 great, great-grandchild as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louis P. Hellewell; son, John Hellewell, daughter, Nancy Blum and grandson, Joshua Blum.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 12 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Baraboo. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 10, 2017 at Redlin Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery.
